These are excerpts from two letters I had written to Steve Albini regarding Big Black:

Letter #1 is postmarked Mar 20, 1991

Albini: Thanks for your flattering letter. You listed all the records Big Black released except the "Il Duce" 7" (Homestead), "Rema Rema" 7" (Forced Exposure) and Sound Of Impact Live LP (The Walls Have Ears). All of those are out of print, sorry. Touch and Go Records is going to reissue Big Black's entire catalog in the fall. Try to get stuff then.

I've always laughed at the notion that anarchy is a workable alternative to a formal government. Anarchy and anarchists are comical, especially when they try to explain how the mail would be delivered or who would keep the dope fiends from robbing the liquor stores. I digress. The good bands: Jesus Lizard, Slint, The Cows, Shadowy Men On A Shadowy Planet, Mudhead, Breadwinner, Didjits. Good Luck, and as my japanese friends say,
Awesomea!

Q: Did you ever know John Lennon?
A: No, but Yoko gave me a handjob at a bus station
